The Alliance Française is a worldwide, non-profit network of associations dedicated to the promotion of French language and culture abroad. The first Alliance was founded in Paris in 1883. The Alliance Française Hamilton has been running (in various forms) more than 60 years. There are now 1081 Alliance Françaises in 135 countries including 7 in New Zealand. Altogether Alliances teach 400,000 students of French at all levels around the world.

French Animation Film Festival in Hamilton
Alliance Française Hamilton is proud to introduce the French Animation Film Festival in Hamilton from the 16th to the 30th of October in cooperation with the French Embassy in New Zealand, l'Institut Français and the Lido cinema.

Originally created by the AFCA (Association Française du cinéma d'animation) the event is organised every year in France and around the world by l’Institut Français and local French cultural organisations. This festival aims to promote French animation films and their authors.
