Diary of a Fleeting Affair (Original title: Chronique d'une liaison passagère)

Comedy, Drama, Romance
2022
1h 40m

In French with English subtitles.

From director Emmanuel Mouret
with Sandrine Kiberlain & Vincent Macaigne

Synopsis: A single mother and a married man become lovers. Committed to seeing each other only for pleasure and not feeling any romantic feelings, they are more and more surprised by their complicity...

Director Emmanuel Mouret signs a new film with superb dialogues about our contemporary society. Every word is in its place and we never get bored for a second in the company of our two wonderful friends. It is clear that Emmanuel Mouret is by far the best love storyteller in France, at the same time the most sober, the most inspired, the most romantic, and the most literary too, which sometimes adds a kitsch and outdated side to his stories with his particular humour.

Our audience may remember the excellent film “The Things We Say, The Things We Do” shown two year ago in our ciné-club. This one is another very good film where viewers can easily learn new French vocabulary.
